Yes, if you are living with disability and eligible for NDIS funding, you may be able to access assistive technology and mobility aids to increase your ability to live independently in the community. This includes a range of devices, equipment and technology useful for daily living.

Assistive technology includes communication devices, hearing aids, visual aids, sensory equipment, and other devices that help people with disability to complete daily tasks and participate in the community. Mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walking frames mobility scooters and can also be funded by the NDIS, along with vehicle or home modifications such as having a ramp or ceiling hoists installed in your home.

To access assistive technology and mobility aids through the NDIS, you must first be assessed by an occupational therapist or other relevant health professional who can recommend appropriate equipment and devices to meet your individual needs. This assessment report is then submitted to the NDIS for consideration.
