Having a clean and safe home is an important part of happy, healthy living. But as we all know, this involves daily tasks such as cleaning, laundry, preparing meals, and washing the dishes. If you have a disability, you may need some support to do these important tasks each day.

Home Caring’s experienced support workers can support you with daily chores and household tasks, so your home is a safe and pleasant place to be. We’ll be by your side offering encouragement and assistance, so you can live as independently as possible.

  • Laundry and essential ironing
  • Changing your bed linen
  • Grocery shopping
  • Planning and preparing delicious and healthy meals
  • Vacuuming and mopping floors
  • Bathroom and kitchen cleaning
  • General home maintenance
  • Backyard cleaning and mowing
  • Garbage disposal and waste removal
  • Making sure food in your fridge is not out of date
  • Sweeping pathways to remove hazards
  • Teaching you simple cleaning skills
  • Providing supervision for household tasks

As registered NDIS providers, Home Caring’s qualified teams will support you with domestic chores according to your individual needs – whether that means providing supervision as you complete tasks independently, teaching you how to do certain things, providing physical assistance when required, or helping you gain the practice you need to do a task well.

NDIS funding for household tasks services

Help with household chores or domestic assistance is available to NDIS participants in the Core Supports budget, under the Assistance with Daily Life category. This category also includes personal care services such as help with showering and getting dressed in the morning. The aim is to help participants develop more independence in everyday life, so they can live in the community and enjoy quality of life.

What kind of household tasks are covered under NDIS Assistance with Daily Life NDIS?

The Assistance with Daily Living NDIS category includes supports that help you with independent living. Along with personal care, this includes support with household duties such as:

  • Cleaning and dusting your home
  • Doing the laundry, hanging clothes and essential ironing
  • Grocery shopping
  • Planning, preparing and cooking meals that are delicious and healthy
  • Small repairs around your home
  • Doing the dishes
  • Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping
  • Garden maintenance, watering plants lawn mowing, sweeping outdoor areas
  • Support to learn simple cleaning skills
  • Changing your bed linen
  • Taking out the rubbish
  • Keeping the kitchen and bathroom clean and sanitary

Keep in mind that Assistance with Daily Life doesn’t cover the cost of rent or mortgage payments, cleaning supplies, bills, personal items that are unrelated to your disability, recreation or food.
