Meet your local director

The HomeCaring Brisbane South Team. Care from the heart.

We work in care because everyone deserves to feel understood, respected and supported in a way that reflects who they are. In Brisbane South, that means recognising that people come from many different cultural backgrounds, family structures and life experiences. What matters most to us is building trust, listening properly and helping people remain independent while staying connected to their family, culture and community.

Our Brisbane South leadership team brings extensive experience across aged care, disability services, case management and operational leadership. The team has worked across community-based care, complex support environments and culturally diverse communities, giving them a strong understanding of both the practical and clinical considerations involved in supporting people safely at home.

The leadership team is supported by local case management and cultural expertise, with a focus on responsive communication, continuity of care and building strong relationships with clients, families and local services.

Leadership experience

Aged care, disability services, case management and operational leadership

Key areas of expertise

Care coordination, workforce and service delivery, complex client needs, family engagement, quality and compliance, and culturally responsive practice

Cultural Connector

Thao, an important link with Vietnamese-speaking clients and families

Our approach: cultural awareness and a personal approach to care

Our Brisbane South team brings strong cultural awareness and a very personal approach to care. One example is our work with Vietnamese-speaking clients and families, where having team members who understand the language, culture and importance of family involvement can make communication and care planning much easier. We also work closely across the Case Management, rostering and support worker teams so that when a client’s needs change, we can respond quickly and coordinate the right supports rather than expecting the family to navigate everything alone.

“At HomeCaring Brisbane South, we believe care should feel personal, not just practical. Our local team takes the time to listen, understand what matters to you and deliver care that helps you live confidently and independently in your own home.”

Why choose HomeCaring Brisbane South

Care you can feel confident about.

One of the biggest concerns we hear is whether care will genuinely reflect the individual, particularly when language, culture or strong family involvement is important. Families also want reliability and clear communication. This is how we respond.

  • Care that reflects the person

Our team focuses on understanding preferences early, involving family members where appropriate and matching clients with workers who can provide consistent and culturally respectful support. For example, where a Vietnamese-speaking client or family has communication needs, we can involve our Cultural Connector to help build understanding and trust around the care arrangement.

  • Can you support someone who speaks a language other than English?

Yes. We support clients from many cultural and linguistic backgrounds and consider language and cultural preferences when arranging care. Within our Brisbane South team we have particular experience working with the Vietnamese community, and we can also explore interpreting and communication options where the required language is not available within our team.

  • Can our family be involved in Mum or Dad’s care?

Absolutely. With the client’s consent, we encourage families to be involved in care planning and communication. We understand that in many cultures, decisions about care are made closely with family, so we work with everyone involved while keeping the client’s wishes and choices at the centre.

  • What happens if our care needs change after we start?

The Case Manager can review the current supports and work with the client, family, workers and relevant health professionals to determine what needs to change. Being connected to major health services across Brisbane South also helps us coordinate care when clients move between hospital, rehabilitation and home-based support.

Part of the community

Our team and local connections.

  • Useful local resources

Useful local resources include Mount Gravatt Community Centre, Eight Mile Plains Community Health Centre, Woolloongabba Community Health Centre and the broader Metro South Health network.

  • Multicultural community networks

The area has strong multicultural community networks, particularly around Sunnybank, Eight Mile Plains and surrounding suburbs. These give our team opportunities to connect clients with culturally relevant activities, community groups and support services.

  • Building a culturally diverse team

We keep building a culturally diverse workforce and strengthening relationships with multicultural communities, and we use roles such as our Cultural Connector and Case Manager to help families feel understood and confident accessing support.
